The Thirteenth Step (2013) Synopsis :

"The Thirteenth Step" is a fabled exploration of occasional vice in the underside of a society wrung by affluence and its metamorphosis into abrupt finality.

Broken up into thirteen psychological subsections (Inception, Impression, Progression, Transgression, Obsession, Aggression, Depression, Confession, Introspection, Resurrection, Deception, Regression, Reflection), each of which represents a poignant subversion of one of the twelve steps to recovery made famous by programs of today such as AA and NA, "The Thirteenth Step" invites the audience to peer through the calloused conscience of the protagonist and into his sequestered psyche their merging culling the graduation of the first twelve steps and nascence of the thirteenth.

What makes this film unique is its juxtaposition of the physical with the mental. The physical actions of the film's protagonist, Mike, lead the audience to believe he's just another overly wealthy, overly privileged yuppie the stupors, the nod.......
